Trend – Moschino Whimsy
When I think of whimsy, I think of Moschino the famed Italian designer who suddenly died in 1994. I learned of his death, while in an accessories design class, when I was a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In design school, the news of a death of a designer is as dramatic as the death of a president. My classmates and I were shocked, dumbfounded and sad. He was at the peak of his career.
Years after his death, his legacy of whimsy, intelligently witty and playful clothing still inspires. Whether created by the Moschino brand or various designers, his joie de vivre continues.

I Dream of Deneuve
I was thinking of the great Catherine Deneuve and her Roger Vivier pilgrim pumps.
These pieces were inspired by her look in in the 1967 classic “Belle du Jour”.

Kelly Osbourne, wearing this Zac Posen gown, topped the worst dressed list. I actually like the gown because the sleeves remind me of the traditional Filipina butterfly sleeves. Bold move!
Best Accessories:
Jade earrings are just as beautiful as diamonds and can be worn with unexpected colors and look stunning.
The gamine headband. Playful and sophisticated. Perfect with the pixie haircut.

Holiday Gold
I love metal bags. I am looking forward to using one of these vintage 80′s metal bags for New Year because using something gold brings luck. This year, I will be in Bangkok and plan to celebrate and toast three New Years – Bangkok, New York, and San Diego.

Modernist Copper Jewelry & Accessories
I only started using copper jewelry and accessories recently. I used to think that copper only looked good on housewares, until I purchased this necklace. Copper is not an ostentatious “look at me I am rich” metal, but it has a subtle artsy elegance.
